Corporate Overview
about

Reliance Motors Namibia CC together with its sister corporation Africa Autonet CC Trading as Pacific Motors constitute the Namibian trading arm of the Autocraft Japan Ltd Group, is involved in the importation of used and new vehicles from Japan, Singapore, Dubai, Chile, and the United States of America and exports vehicles to Angola (through Pacific Motors)and Namibia(through Reliance Motors). Reliance Motors operates as a branch in Windhoek that stocks all the right-hand drive used vehicles that are destined for the local market. .

Reliance Motors officially opened its doors in Windhoek on 09th November 2005 and has sold 85 units til the end of August 2006.Operations of Reliance Motors and Pacific Motors in Namibia are funded entirely from own cash resources, which is in line with the wider Autocraft Japan Ltd Group financing structure. Reliance Motors forms part of the Autocraft Japan Ltd Group, who is the current market leader in the international trade of second-hand vehicles. The Autocraft Japan Group commenced its operations during 1990.. Following the success of its operation in Japan and the expansion of the export market to various countries, the group diversified its operations in other countries. Today the group is active in 32 countries and can source virtually any type of vehicle . Autocraft Japan Ltd exports on average 4 200 vehicles per month to its various branches and outlets throughout the world.

Apart from the import of vehicles, Reliance Motors CC is also involved in the usual ancillary services associated with a second hand vehicle dealership. It facilitates all actions required to register the vehicle in the new owner’s name (i.e. police clearance, NaTIS testing, registration and number plates). Although the imported vehicles do not differ mechanically from locally traded vehicles (but only on the exterior and to a lesser extent interiorly) which thus makes parts for these vehicles readily available through the existing Automobile Dealerships in Namibia and spare parts centres like Cymot ,Gregs,B.H motors etc.

Reliance Motors and Pacific Motors are also in the process of concluding arrangements with accredited mechanics to make their services available to the increasing number of “Grey Imported” vehicles in Namibia as a means of ensuring the desired level of technical support for its vehicles. Most of the independent mechanics in Windhoek and throughout Namibia have for some time already accepted the responsibility of servicing the Grey Imports merely due to the increasing number of such vehicles in circulation already and then not wanting to lose out on such business opportunities. In addition hereto, it is worth mentioning that for most of the models that Reliance Motors CC and Pacific Motors stocks, the desired level of technical support is also provided through the main stream traditional dealerships in Namibia which essentially means that even the formal dealerships have removed any distinction between the local models and the Grey Import models. This could only bode well for the future success of the “Grey Import” market in Namibia.
